When Arjun Lal won a special mention from the jury at the State Film Award Committee for his first role, it came as no surprise to those who had seen the film `Thanmatra.' They had already been charmed by his performance as the sprightly teenager in the film. While Arjun Lal plays a Plus Two student in the film, in real life he has just finished Class 12 from the Our Own English High School in Dubai, where his parents work.
Born in Koratty, Thrissur district, he studied till 5th grade at St. Joseph's School, Aloor, and Carmel School, Chalakuddy. Arjun has made a name for himself as a dancer, performing both Western and Indian classical dance.
A fan of English movies, especially award winning movies, the youngster says that he admires Tom Hanks and Anthony Hopkins. "My favourite movie is `Forest Gump' staring Tom Hanks. And I also love all Steven Speilberg movies," he adds.
